CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – Fellowship for South East Asian Journalist

Indonesian Association for Media Development, PPMN is pleased to announce an opportunity for qualified journalists in South East Asian countries to apply for “Reporting Tolerance and Diversity with Solutions Journalism” workshop and fellowship program. The program will begin with a workshop on August 23rd – 25th, 2019.

This course is free with limited seats available. Up to five selected participants will get awards to fund their reporting work in respective country. This application must be submitted by individuals.

Eligibility of participants:

  • Be a working journalist (print, online, television, video, radio, documentary and multimedia) as freelancer or in media outlet based in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippine, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and East Timor;
  • Propose a story idea on tolerance and diversity topics with a budget outlining estimated costs for reporting such as travel, accommodation, etc.;
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English;
  • Provide a letter of support from an editor, producer, or supervisor who can confirm your track record and willing to publish or broadcast the story on their media

The selected candidates will be invited to join the workshop in Jakarta, Indonesia and eligible for travel expenses such as flights, accommodation, and meals.
